It's hard to believe 2nd quarter is over and we are at the halfway point! We finished up the quarter wrapping up units in ELA and math, ready to start a fresh next week.
In ELA, students wrote informational paragraphs about how frogs have special adaptations to help them survive in their habitat. We also took an end of unit assessment. Today we began unit 3, in which students are researching a specific frog, learning all about them and their adaptations. They will be writing an informational essay about their frog. Next week, we will be doing more research and analyzing a model essay.
We wrapped up our multiplication and division unit this week. Students explored multiplying/dividing by multiples of 10 and 2 step word problems. Next week we will begin a short unit on geometry. They will learn about how to classify quadrilaterals.
In social studies, we learned all about goods, services, needs, wants, natural/human/capital resources, and supply/demand this week. We are about halfway through our economics unit. We will learn about scarcity, trading, and opportunity cost next week.
