Happy Fri-yay! It was a short, but fun week! We enjoyed Science is Fun on Thursday and are excited for our first field trip since COVID next week. :) We will explore soil and plants/seeds at Laurel Hills Park.
We continued reading Peter Pan this week. We are learning to summarize effectively, connect what we have read to previous chapters, finding meaning of unfamiliar words, and analyzing figurative language. We have also been analyzing character traits. Next week we will continue to read Peter Pan and will close read several chapters for deeper meaning.
In math we explored perimeter this week. We also used what we know about area and perimeter to answer different types of 2-step problems. We will review on Monday and take the unit assessment on Tuesday. We will begin our next unit on fractions Wednesday.
Science has been lots of fun this week! We learned all about gravity as a force. Students created contraptions to contain an egg that would stay intact when dropped from a height of 10 feet. Next week will explore speed, direction, and friction.
