Happy Friday! It is hard to believe the 3rd quarter is over and next week begins the last quarter! We are in hyper-speed mode trying to finish up new learning and review old. To help prepare us for EOG testing, students have begun bringing home a review packet each week that is due on Friday. We go over the homework in class each Friday.
In ELA we are getting close to the end of Peter Pan. We summarized, explored how chapters build on each other, character traits and motivation, and perspective. We also began reading Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, another story by JM Barrie. We are comparing this story with the novel. We are also creating glossaries of new words. Next week we will continue reading both stories.
In math, we have been exploring equivalent fractions this week. We have learned to do this using length models (rectangles) and number lines. We will work a little more on this next week and then move on to comparing fractions.
This week in science we learned all about the sun, constellations, and rotation/revolution. Next week we will learn about the moon and shadows.
