I hope everyone had a great Spring Break! We came back ready to learn and finish out the year. We have some fun things to look forward to, like Walk to School Day and Field Day. We are wrapping up new learning and are beginning to review skills in preparation for End of Grade testing.
In ELA this week we finished reading Peter Pan and Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. We explored the central message and compared/contrasted the stories and characters. We also began working on a book review of Peter Pan. We started by analyzing a model review and so far have written the first 2 paragraphs. We will finish writing the review next week. We will then begin our final module on water conservation. We have been reviewing skills in ALL Block time, which will continue next week.
We learned all about fractions greater than 1 this week in math. We also reviewed all of fractions in preparation for the unit test on Friday. We will begin a unit on time next week. You can ask your student to tell you what time it is using an analog clock at home. We are also reviewing skills in small groups.
This week in science we have learned all about earth's water features. We have learned about fresh, salt, and brackish water bodies of water. We have learned the characteristics of different ecosystems including the living things found in them. Next week we will focus on landforms on earth.
