Happy Friday! We worked hard this week learning new material and reviewing old in reading and math. We are in the home stretch!
In ELA, we continued to read One Well. We are learning all about how all water on earth is connected and does not increase/decrease, how many people in the world do not have access to clean drinking water, and how the strain on our water supply is increasing. We have been working on finding main ideas/details and comparing texts. Next week we will finish up reading the book and practicing these same skills.
This week in math we started measurement. We learned all about customary length, including how to use a ruler and yardstick, estimating lengths, and solving word problems involving length. Next week we will explore capacity and weight.
In social studies we have started learning about the 5 themes of geography. We have spent the week learning about absolute and relative location, including latitude, longitude, and landmarks. Next week we will learn about how location affects climate.
